Help for those at the crossroads - Penrith Press, 19 February 2010
Small businesses will benefit from the Penrith Business Forum, according to White River Design owner Debbie O'Connor.
"Some small businesses have gotten to the crossroads where they do not know how to grow", Mrs O'Connor said. "They need some help and that is what the forum is for."
After her business when through growth stages recently, Mrs O'Connor hopes the forum will help it to expand further. "My business had grown from being a sole trader to having four employees," she said. "If there is a lot of support behind small business - as there is at the form - then further growth is something we want to look at".
White River Design is an award-winning graphic arts studio focusing on graphics for business cards up to marketing materials.
Operating in Penrith, Mrs O'Connor says people like herself would rather work close to home. "I think if people could work locally, they would," she said.
She is looking forward to seeing what the forum has in store for owners. "I'm hoping there will be a lot of creative and innovative ideas", she said.
